I don’t fix your mind. I free it.™

Twenty-eight years in tax and audit taught me how to find what everyone else missed. The hardest thing I ever had to find was a quiet mind.

01  Precision

For 28 years, I was the person companies called when the numbers had to be right.

As a CPA and Tax Director, my career spanned Big Four firms and public companies. I built my reputation on precision, logic, and control.

$6.3 million USD

A tax refund I could find — not in what you see, but in what you don’t see.

What I couldn’t find, for a long time, was a quiet mind.

02  Stillness

Then came the moment that changed everything.

After being promised a promotion, I didn’t get it.

My instinct could have been to work harder, prove myself, and keep playing the same game. Instead, I became curious about the game itself — and about why a career I had spent 28 years building no longer felt like the answer.

Two and a half years of silence

I walked away from my tax career, traveled to an ashram in India, and spent two and a half years practicing stillness every day — the first real silence I had allowed myself in decades.

That began a much deeper inquiry.

Over the next seven years, I invested nearly CDN$200,000 in coaching, training, and study with teachers including Bob Proctor, Peter Sage, and Mia Hewett, while exploring quantum principles, hypnosis, consciousness, and neuroscience. Still a student, still discovering.

And I discovered something that changed the way I saw everything.

The mind that had made me successful was also the mind that could keep me stuck.

03  The system

Looking back, I don’t think this was just my story.

Almost every auditor — in tax, in law, in financial statements — starts out curious. Curious about how the numbers actually work. Curious about the “why” underneath the rule.

But the profession runs on billable hours. And a system built to bill time doesn’t just measure output — it quietly represses that original curiosity.

Layer the training for conformity on top of it — follow the standard, match the precedent, don’t deviate — and you get professionals who are technically brilliant and almost entirely cut off from the curiosity that brought them into the work in the first place.

That combination — the hours, the conformity — isn’t just an occupational hazard. It trains the mind itself to behave a certain way.

If value = billable time

Then emotion is noise — it can’t be invoiced, so it gets pushed down.

If value = being right

Then curiosity is a risk — an open question doesn’t close a file, so it gets shut down too.

What’s left is a mind trained to do one thing relentlessly: search for certainty. Restlessly. Without an off switch.

“I don’t know yet” was never billable —
but “I’m sure” was.

Left unexamined, this becomes a liability in personal growth and evolution. Most people never trace it back to its source. I didn’t, for 28 years.

04  The new era

But we’re in a new era now.

The very forces that used to make curiosity a liability — billable hours, conformity, the demand for certainty — are the ones being disrupted, by AI, faster than any of us expected.

In this new era, curiosity isn’t a distraction from the work.

It’s the superpower.

This is the talk I give to finance teams. See the speaking page →

05  The work

And here is what I now understand

Curiosity only flourishes when a mind is free from limiting beliefs.

And that requires a quiet mind.

This is the work Not fixing. Not forcing. Not adding more information or more effort. Freeing.

Unwinding the limiting beliefs that were never yours to begin with — the ones installed by a system that rewarded certainty over wonder, conformity over curiosity, and billable hours over being fully human.

When the mind becomes quiet, the beliefs that were running in the background — unseen, unquestioned — finally come into view.

And when you can see them, you can choose differently.

My analytical ability wasn’t the problem. It was an extraordinary asset.

The problem was what happened when that ability operated without awareness — overthinking, second-guessing, perfectionism, and the constant search for certainty.

06  Today

Today, I bring this work to the people I understand best.

As The Mind Auditor™, I work with high-achieving analytical professionals and leaders — CFOs, tax partners, finance executives, and other professionals who have mastered logic but were never taught what to do with the noise underneath it.

My philosophy is simple:

I don’t fix your mind. I free it.™

Through my proprietary 3Ss + Flip Framework, under The Mind Auditor™, I help analytical professionals uncover the hidden patterns driving their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors — and shift from unconscious reaction to conscious choice.

My work sits at the intersection of science, consciousness, and business.

I am the founder of HumanPotential101, creator of the Quiet Mind Audit and Overthinking Detox, and author of The Survival Guide for Analytical Professionals on Planet Earth.

I help analytical minds become more fully human in a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence.

A quiet mind isn’t a luxury. It’s a profit multiplier.

Here’s what I mean

When your mind is quiet, you stop leaking energy into overthinking, second-guessing, and the endless search for certainty.

You make decisions faster — not because you’re reckless, but because you’re no longer paralyzed by the illusion that there’s a “perfect” answer.

You see what others miss — not because you’re smarter, but because you’re not drowning in noise.

You lead from clarity instead of fear.

You innovate from curiosity instead of anxiety.

You build from vision instead of reaction.

The return

The ROI isn’t just financial. It’s energetic. It’s creative. It’s relational.

It’s the compounding return on finally having access to your full capacity — not just the analytical part that was trained to perform, but the whole human being underneath it.

That’s what a quiet mind gives you. Not peace for peace’s sake.

Peace as the foundation for your next level of performance.

Off the record

A little about me personally…

I live in Longueuil, Québec. I still occasionally do my own corporate tax filings out of old habit.

Because apparently, 28 years of tax is a hard habit to break.

I believe a quiet mind isn’t a luxury. It’s a profit multiplier.
